Titan Chemicals commenced construction of its first facility in Malaysia, a RM300 million Polypropylene (PP) plant, in 1989. Engineer, Mechanical (Contract) - Johor - Malaysia
Requirements:
Having 7 years working experiences in mechanical engineering design / construction / maintenance, of which at least 3 years experienced in oil & gas or petrochemical plants.
Good knowledge of process equipment both rotating and static equipment in term of design, construction, testing, etc.
Familiar with piping design, fabrication, installation, inspection and testing work.
Familiar with engineering codes such as ASME, API, TEMA, etc.
Has good knowledge of engineering drawings and specification preparation and review.
Has good knowledge of project handling and management.
Graduate Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical).
Capable of perform project cost estimation.
Responsibilities:
To perform calculation / design for mechanical equipment/part & piping as required.
To prepare the mechanical specifications for equipment /system based on the design, process data sheet and engineering codes for in-house projects.
To liaise with engineers of related expertise to prepare ITB for services of engineering, procurement and / or construction /installation from outside companies.
To review / comment the mechanical design data submitted by outside engineering company.
To review / comment the specifications for mechanical equipment and work procedures submitted by outside Service Company.
To work, communicate and coordinate with vendors / suppliers / consultants in expediting the jobs.
To check the correctness of mechanical drawings for equipment, piping, layout etc. prepared by in-house designer / drafter.
To review / comment the drawings related to mechanical equipment, layout, piping etc. prepared by outside engineering Service Company.
To work with engineers in other expertise area to review and compare the bids submitted by outside service companies per ITB.
To review / comment the AFE for improvement projects from plant before forwarding for management approval.
To serve as a project leader to handle projects if assigned.
To work with the related personnel to oversee the project progress to control the project cost, schedule and job quality.
To estimate the project cost and prepare the project schedule as required.
To perform other duties as assigned by the superiors of the department.
